After we checked into our hotel yesterday, we took a little walk around town to pass some time. When we first visited Munich over a year ago, it was not exactly what we expected it to be, however it has become one of our favorite cities in Europe. It's a beautiful place to walk around and there are many things to do. While this trip was planned totally for the Hubs to take a test, we still wanted to enjoy a few of our favorite things while we were here. Here are a few of the pictures I snapped while the weather was cooperating with us yesterday:
In a park near our hotel they have several huge chess boards. I thought it was the coolest thing and really wished I knew how to play.
Check mate.
Germany always looks so clean and bright.
Vogue does Oktoberfest
Starbucks has never really been my favorite, but when we see one, we typically stop in for a drink. There are none in Italy, so it's like a little taste of home when we're traveling. Hot tea was the perfect drink yesterday.
The Marienplatz square.
John Ralph bought me this coat before we left on Friday, and it is so warm and cozy! Perfect prize for the temperatures we're having here.
Rathaus-Glockenspiel
Read info about it {here}.
Details of the New Town Hall.
If you want to go back in time, you can read my post from our first trip to Munich {here}. That was right before deployment. Crazy that so much time has already passed since our first trip here, and fun to look back and see how our lives have changed since then.
Anywho...The weather is totally crummy today. Of course, the weather channel said it was going to be sunny, no chance of rain, and about 59 degrees. It's currently pouring rain and very chilly. I've learned my lesson with trusting the weather channel. I had big plans to pass the time today while Ralph is taking the test, but since we're a ways from the center of town and I didn't bring rain gear, I'm staying put around our hotel. I think the most adventure I'm going to see while waiting is how many cups of tea I can consume. I live a crazy life, you know.
I was hoping to get a few more pictures of us on this trip, but I haven't decided if I'll lug the camera around in this weather. If anything, I'll probably be taking iPhone photos. Hopefully we'll have a fun enough evening that I can squeeze another post out of this trip and let you know how John Ralph feels about the test!
But for now, I think it's about time to start on that tea count. Ciao for now!
