On Thursday, we planned to go to Bonamini Olive Oil Factory for a tasting and to buy some products. Coincidently, the First Ladies of the First Rock coffee group (basically just the wives of our battalion) had planned a tour of the facility, lunch, and tasting for the same day...so we just joined in on the fun. Thursday was the first day of harvesting, so we got to see them in action and learn how the oil is made. The lunch was delicious and we all left with a few things to bring home.
Riding to work on two wheels.
Olives, ready for harvesting.
Up in the tree, raking the olives off the branches.
James, listening to the tour with his lovely butterfly name tag.
Freshly bottled olive oil.
Getting labels and lids.
Ready to go on some bottles
Learning all about olive oil during the tour.
Delicious bruschetta before lunch
