Here is a look into some more rooms in our house!
I spent most of Monday afternoon tackling the PCP (paint color problem) in our bedroom. Not heeding my mothers advice, I painted without first choosing curtains or bedding or anything at all for that matter. I even made a last minute color decision change in Lowes. I live on the edge. But seriously you guys, the orange had to go.
I never have liked orange. I think it's an ugly color. Growing up, the color was a "bad word" in our house. When I was 4, I cried because a bank teller gave me an orange sucker. How offensive! Ok, maybe that last part was because of my disdain for Clemson, not the actual color, but still, orange is just a little nauseating to me.
My last minute color swap was from Cottontail to White Scallion.
Yes, we still have the red curtains up, but until I can find some new ones they are going to stay for the sake of privacy.
It should be noted that Darby ran in and jumped on the bed while I was taking these pictures. I decided to be "the cool mom" and let her stay while I took photos of the other rooms. I came back to a hole chewed in the gray blanket. What a little shit.
The color is showing up a lot greener in these pictures than it actually looks in real life, but I wanted to give a few different angles of the bedroom and the color. It's a really really really light green.
This is what the guest bedroom currently looks like. I wish the light fixtures in each of the bedrooms gave off a more white hue. I've tried to change the bulbs, but I think it's going to come down to buying new glass globes if we want the yellow light to go away.
Now, if you walk through our kitchen you will end up at the utility room. It's really a great space with a lot of storage. I'm just thankful I have a washer and dryer that will do a load of laundry in under 20 hours. I think once I unpack our shipment, I'll be able to put some baskets on the shelves and make things a little neater looking.
Through the utility room you get to the sun room. I really like how bright it is, and it has some great windows that slide open. Perfect for al fresco style dining! The space looks out into the yard, which needs a little love, but I think by next spring we will be ready for some awesome garden parties.
Since we don't have a real space for a dining area, we decided to put it out here. We use the bar to eat when it's just the two of us, but I think this provides a nice little setting when there are more people eating.
I'll eventually get around to painting the blue wall (maybe with some leftover paint from the rest of the house) and recovering the chairs. For now, the room is serving as a holding place for items we haven't figured out a space for yet.
And this is a look back into the house through the sun room.
The movers arrived right after these pictures were taken, so the house is a bit of a disaster right now. However, I'm really liking how all of our stuff is fitting in nicely! Hopefully I'll get the majority of our stuff organized and put away by tonight and I'll be able to give an updated view of things by the end of the week.
