High Five for Friday

Top of the morning to you all!  I thought today would be the perfect day to link up with Lauren over at thelaurenelizabeth.com for a High Five for Friday.  As I gear up for the weekend, here's a list of my top five moments from this past week:

1. Paint!  Getting the living room and kitchen painted was a big accomplishment this week.  The new color really brightens and livens up the space, and I was happy to see the blue, brown, and beige disappear.  My main goal was to get it painted before the movers come, so I chalk this one up as an all around success.  The color I ended up going with for this space is Filtered Shade by Valspar.

Simply put, painting was exhausting.

2.  Working on my fitness.  I joined a gal pal for a heated yoga class on Monday and on Tuesday I drank the Pure Barre koolaid.  Both classes were great and it felt good to get a little blood flowing and sweat dripping.  I'm still looking for an affordable but good spin class, although word on the street (Ralph went by and asked) is that the community center offers some classes.

3.  Finally catching some Zzzz.  So, we got a new bed on Tuesday.  Let me tell you, while I was thankful to have something to sleep on, an air mattress gets really old really fast.  The new mattress is heaven sent.  While I will say the first night on the new bed wasn't the greatest (the "new mattress smell" gave me a migraine, which led to some middle of the night puking, and, naturally, while lying awake I somehow convinced myself I had Ebola…), the last few nights have been much, much better.  Now, if I could just get the rest of my pillows, all would be well in the world.

Debated on whether or not to get some new mugs before we moved.  Decided to go for it and we've been loving our SIP and GULP mugs.  They go great with coffee after a night on an air mattress.

4.  Finding out when we get our stuff.  They finally called us with a delivery date for our big household goods shipment.  It's not until Tuesday, but at least we have a date.  Unfortunately, Tuesday is also the first day of school for Ralph, so I'm going to be flying solo on the unpacking.

My Chicken Man painting goes along quite well with the new wall color.

5.  Decorating.  I've started doing small bits of decorating here and there throughout the house.  It's fun to put our spin on the place and I have a lot of ideas swirling around in my mind.  It'll be nice to see how our stuff works in the new house once the shipment arrives.  We've also been looking around town for a few new pieces of furniture.  It's a slow process, but things are starting to come together a bit more, and soon enough we'll be sitting on real furniture instead of camping chairs.

Put together this photo collage of old family pictures yesterday.  My family is so hip.

The next two weeks are going to be packed full for us, but there is so much coming soon to be pumped up about.  Today I'm tackling the guest bedroom and closet so that everything will be put away and organized when the movers come next week.  Side note: does anyone use the Cartwheel app?  It has saved us a lot of money at Target!  Tons of good deals lately.  Saved a bunch on closet organization stuff this morning.

Anyway, that's about all I have to say.  Let's tackle this Friday, shall we?
