Midway

Well, we're officially on the other side of the move.  All of the boxes have been unpacked and almost everything has found a place in the house.  Today I finally got everything situated in the kitchen, living room, and bathroom.  While all of the spaces need a few more things (rugs, lamps, etc.) I'm very pleased with how our stuff fits into this house.

I tried my hand at the panorama setting on the iPhone, so this gives you a better view of what you see when you walk in the front door (click on the photo to make it bigger).  The blue tape on the floor is where I was measuring out what size of rug would fit in the space.  I have a few different rugs I'm looking at, but I just can't decide on one (not to mention rugs are expensive!).  Plus, I'm trying to find one that is a little easier with handling dog hair and vacuuming…do those even exist?

The kitchen is pretty much complete.  I am SO excited to finally use the appliances that we got for our wedding.  I was too afraid to use them in Italy because of horror stories I heard about voltage issues, even when using a transformer.  Anyway, the Kitchenaid and Vitamix have both found their place on the counters and I can't wait to use them.  I also set up a little coffee bar in front of the window, and something about having a separate little station makes the morning breakfast routine really pleasant.

When Ralph Darby bought me my mothers day present, I didn't really expect I would purpose it as a TV stand, but you use what you have, am I right?  I plan on doing a gallery wall of some shape or form on the wall.  Pinterest has given me a few good ideas, now I just need to execute a plan.

We love having all of our stuff.  As much of a pain it is to unpack, it is equally as much fun to look through pictures and unwrap things that hold so many memories.  Next week I plan on finishing up the bedroom, getting JR's office/the guest bedroom taken care of, and hanging all of our pictures.

So that's that for now.  No big plans for the weekend other than I'm hoping to get to a nursery to buy some plants for the inside and outside of the house.  Mostly, I think we'll be hanging out and relaxing.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!
