Our final stop was a quick one in the town of Montepulciano. Honestly, we didn't spend very much time in the town for the simple reason that the bank thought our charges in Tuscany were suspicious so they put a hold on the debit card and we couldn't use it! Apparently we were buying too much wine! Ha! When we called the bank, the lady said we were doing some "serious wine shopping." What other kind of wine shopping is there?
I loved this little house on the middle of a hill as we were driving to Montepulciano.
Please excuse the quality of some of these pictures...but we were driving. In the distance is the town of Montepulciano, up on the hill.
There was soooo much delicious wine and other products to choose from. Unfortunately, we were limited to as much as the euro we had would buy us.
This town had lots of little kitties running around. Darby was just strolling around when one jumped out and I thought she was going to have a heart attack. This definitely wasn't the case of "dog chases cat."
The buildings are so old and beautiful. This one had old carvings on the stones.
Free tastings? I think we will.
Ohh, to live the Italian live. La dolce vita.
After we left the town, we headed back to the agriturismo to enjoy one final, delicious meal at the restaurant. This time we shared the house antipasto, which came with a lot of cured meats, some sun dried tomatoes, olives, and bruschetta. John Ralph had the tagliatelle with ragu (meat sauce), and I had a filet with rosemary. We share a side of beans cooked with tomatoes and sage. Once again, we were not disappointed at all. Everything was phenomenal.
I know that while we still have some time left in Italy, it is all rapidly coming to an end. I hope that we will be able to make another trip to the Tuscan region before we leave, but if not, I'm happy knowing that this was one of my favorite trips yet.
