On our second day in Tuscany, we started off by visiting an old town called Monteriggioni. After driving about twenty minutes through some beautiful scenery, we arrived at the hilltop town. The town was really quaint and I loved the shops there. We got there as people were setting up for a festival, so there were a lot of vendors out selling some of the regions typical products. We beat the heat by grabbing a light lunch of bruschetta, prosciutto, and melon, and then set off to explore more areas.
So amazingly gorgeous.

Darby is really good at being Italian.
All of the buildings are made of old stones. The walls inside are mostly stone and the ceilings have large wooden beams.
I love the look and feel of old towns like this.

Taking a little break from the hot, hot sun.
Some spices set up at one of the vendors.
Scales ready to weigh your goods.
Old wheelbarrows help people in the town get their materials around.
