Well, I think it's safe to say that after a few Skype dates with Scootie and Seeber (sister and niece) and phone call each from my two main men (Daddy and John Ralph),
I've decided to give myself something to do and start planning a Halloween party. I figure it would give the guys a chance to relax and have fun once they get back home. Plus, it gives me a reason to do arts and crafts and go shopping at the Euro Spot (Italian Dollar Store).
For inspiration I've turned to none other than Martha Stewart. I think I'm going to go with black and pewter with hints of purple and green. We all know I'm just not a huge orange fan...
There are several florists near our apartment that have the most beautiful flowers. Not only are we needing some winter friendly plants to go outside on our windows, but I think these flower arrangements would be beautiful to have as decorations.
For food I'm definitely thinking I should make mummies (pigs in a blanket). I'm looking for a good, warm dip I can make and give a "spooky" name, and any other fun Halloween themed foods.
I really want to make this Shrunken Heads in Cider drink. I love apple cider, and I think it would be perfect for the chilly weather we've been having. I'm definitely going to look for a neat pot to serve it in. I might be making another trip to the thrift store one day soon.
I haven't quite decided if we should dress up or not. Italy doesn't really do Halloween the same way America does. I think it would be hilarious to see some of our friends in a costume, though. If we do, I'm thinking Tinkerbell and Peter Pan. How good would John Ralph look in green tights?
