Time for Wine

Luckily for me, there is a great vineyard located just a quick drive away from us.  My inner Italian rejoices.  On Saturday we decided to enjoy the beautiful, crisp day and take a little afternoon trip to Arrington Vineyards.  We started out sitting at a picnic table, but the wind was blowing something fierce so we moved our party of two to the table by the fire.  The changing leaves, fireplace, and glass of red wine made me want to rent a cabin the the middle of the mountains and hide out 'til summer.  I know, I get it, we're all tired of hearing people say "I love fall"…but guys, I love fall.

If you are visiting the Nashville area, I highly recommend checking this place out.  It's only 30 minutes south of downtown Nashville and surrounded by beautiful scenery.

This swing was calling my name but the wind was just too much on Saturday.  Next time...

Instead of a formal tasting we decided to go with a picnic flight, which is your choice of 4 wines.

Lovely.

I decided on three reds and one white.  I don't necessarily pair my wines with food, but instead with weather.  When it's hot I want nothing but cold and bubbly, but cold weather calls for rich, full bodied reds.

You can look but don't touch.

The vineyard doesn't have any type of food there, but a food truck was parked there when we visited and Ralph grabbed us some delicious bruschetta.

Of the four wines we tried, Antebellum 2012 was my favorite.

Luckily, we scored the table directly in front of the fireplace.  Heaven.

Decisions, decisions.

Cozied up by the fire and happy.

We brought home a bottle of Antebellum and one Syrah but I think next time I'll try this fancy little fox.

They have bonfires and music on the weekends, and although we didn't stay for the entertainment, I think it's safe to say we will be visiting again soon!
