Mi casa es su...wait, wrong language again.

I stayed behind this morning to clean/organize the disaster area that is our hotel room.  It's amazing how messy a small space can get in such a short period of time.  John Ralph headed onto post to try to sign us up for cell phones and look into renting bikes.  Today is our last day before actually starting to in-process, so we're trying to get some last minute errands done (including the large pile of laundry sitting to my right).

We also have an appointment to go view an apartment today.  It's a newer one in an area a little north of downtown Vicenza, about 3 miles from base.  We went to look at one yesterday, but when we arrived at the apartment, they didn't have the right keys.  It was interesting to see the area though.  Our biggest struggle with housing right now is trying to figure out what we really want.  Downtown, countryside, or close to base?  Each has it's pros and cons.  John Ralph really wants a "cool view", which I think we have more options the further from downtown we go.  Both of us like the convenience of being a bike ride or short walk from base.  I'm really interested with the safety features of the houses (higher floors, garage, etc.).  Hopefully we will know what's right for us when we see it.

Now, for what I consider the most exciting bit of news to post about...drumroll please...The Amount of Sleep We Got Last Night!  John Ralph got 11 hours and I got 9.  This is huge, people.  We have been staying awake staring at the ceiling since we arrived in Italy, only getting 1 or 2 hours of sleep at night.  Let me tell you, that makes for a loooong next day.  Our sleep schedules were so out of whack.  I'm praying that this means we are starting to adjust to the time difference and can start functioning like normal human beings again.  Some of you have witnessed, first hand, what lack of sleep does to us.  Believe me, it ain't pretty.

I'm thinking and hoping we'll start having more pictures to post as we get a little more settled in and start doing cooler things.  But as for now, that laundry pile isn't getting any smaller...
