Country comes to town

We're here!  This is the view from our hotel window.  Those are some apartments and a church bell tower.  Later today, John Ralph and I are going to walk into downtown to check it out.  We toured base earlier and checked in.  It still hasn't quite hit me that we're living in Italy, but so far it has been pretty neat!  We were wondering earlier if we will lose any of our southern accent once we're here for a while.  I've caught myself saying "y'all" about, ohhh, a million times already.  So far we haven't gotten to use any Italian...which might be a blessing, seeing as how, between the two of us, we know about seven words.  Hopefully we can get some good pictures of the town on our walk later and post them.  Also, we've been trying to Face Time or Skype to anyone back home, so email one of us so we can set up a date!  Wish us luck as we venture out!
