Giving it another go.

It's back and better than ever!!  (Isn't that what all the product rebranding says?)  After a long blogging hiatus, I'm ready to be a little more consistent with documenting what we are getting up to.  Not to mention, I started to feel guilty when everyone back home mentioned that I "hadn't blogged in a while".

Just to make sure people are up to date, let's rewind a few months and review what has been happening in our lives:  John Ralph returned from deployment in the middle of February.  It was amazing and wonderful (and still is), and we took the month of March to enjoy each other and go on a few small trips.  Then, in April, we packed up and flew across the ocean to spend some much needed time with family and friends back home.  Yesterday, I arrived back in Italy, while John Ralph made his way to the Netherlands to link up with some of his colleagues for a staff ride.  I'm not totally sure what a staff ride is, or I would give you more details.  Anyway, I think that just about covers what we've been up to.

Here are some pictures to document the things we've been doing:

In March, we went to a town in northern Italy to go skiing.  While I wasn't thrilled with the sport, I think John Ralph has found a new favorite hobby.  He had a blast, and I'm so glad that he did.  I, however, still need to design a plan for getting down the mountain without having a major anxiety attack (yes that happened).  Thankfully I have all of summer and fall to talk myself into trying it again.

One of our favorite parts about being at home in South Carolina during April was going to the lake house.  Thankfully, we had beautiful, warm weather while we were there and got to enjoy a few days relaxing.  It really put us in the mood to have a fun and relaxing spring here in Italy.

We also headed to Charleston at the beginning of April.  The Holy City is probably tied with Paris for my favorite city of all time.  We have a lot of memories linked to Charleston and we were excited to spend a few days there with Amanda, Anna, and Ava Kate.  We ate like Kings (and Queens), shopped a fair amount, and even got to enjoy a beach day.

Other things we enjoyed while we were home were a "Welcome Home" get together, a belated Sesame Street birthday party for my favorite 2 year old, and a trip out to Colorado.  All of these things, however, get their very own blog post, which means you guys have to stay tuned.

John Ralph and I are also in the process of planning out some big trips for us to go on over the next few months.  I'd like for us to make our way over to Spain or Portugal, and I definitely want to go back to Paris in the spring.  We also want to travel to a few more places in Italy.

So, loyal followers, stick around as we see what kind of fun adventures this warm weather brings us.  Now that things are back to "normal", we're going to have a lot of great things to blog about!
