Just a few updates...
Ciao. Not much going on over here right now. My preschool class graduates next Friday, so I've been busy with those preparations, and John Ralph is busy with work and studying for the LSAT. We've been coming home exhausted and going to bed early, around 9:00 every night. Clearly, we have a line of people waiting to hang out with us because we are just the life of the party.
We did ride our bikes out to an agriturismo for a dinner on Wednesday, and that was fun (you can check our their website here). John Ralph purchased a nice road bike not too long ago, and decided to get me a new bike too. Don't worry, I got an extra hefty duty chain and lock this time, so the Bike Thief better think twice before stealing my bike again. We have a really nice bike path to use that makes it easy to travel between small towns, and the weather was perfect for an afternoon pedal.
But, back to the agriturismo...it's about a 10 minute ride out of town and is right by the Palladian Villa la Rotunda (check out their website here). Agriturismos are neat because they are working farms, that you can also stay and eat at. Like a bed and breakfast, but with goats and grape vines. It's so nice that we can live right in the middle of a city, but in a matter of minutes be enjoying the countryside. I love that about where we live.
This weekend is a long weekend for us, so tomorrow we are going to head to Lake Garda for two relaxing nights. On Monday, we plan on hiking 52 Tunnels, an area that the Italians used during WWI to supply the Alpini mountain troops with supplies. We just got a new camera, so I'm really excited about using it to take some great pictures this weekend. Hopefully, I'll get plenty of material to blog about in the coming week!
I hope everyone enjoys their Memorial Day weekend. Take a moment to remember those who have given so much for our freedom.
