Update on my main squeeze

We definitely got off to an interesting start with this whole deployment thing.  John Ralph left, then he came back...then he left again....and then he came back...and then he left...but didn't come back.  So we went through three goodbyes, and two welcome backs within a week.  Not exactly how I had imagined things going, but I definitely liked the extra days with him.

I've gotten to Skype with him once, and email a few times, and I think he is in pretty good spirits.  They still haven't made it to their final stop, so I think they are getting a little bored of sitting and waiting.  He did say that he got a haircut at one of their stops and since it was so cheap, he opted to pay for a hair wash too.  The wash was great, but then the man started "massaging" his head, which was more like a beating that included powerful slaps to his forehead.  It was funny to hear him tell the story.

Of course, I miss him like crazy.  I'm trying to keep myself busy with things so that I don't sit and think about it too much.  I'm lucky that we have the chance to communicate with each other.  I can't help but think about the husbands and wives went through deployments without Skype and telephones and email.  I would have been a basket case.

Anyway, keep the guys in your thoughts and prayers.  Send good vibes their way so they can hopefully get to where they're going in a jiffy.  I know the waiting game is no fun, especially in a hot and sandy place!  We both really appreciate the love and support that we've recieved over the last week.  I'll be sure to post updates when I can, and who knows, maybe John Ralph can even be a "guest blogger" and let us know how he's doing!
