Syke.

Well if these last few days haven't been a whirlwind, then I just don't know what is.  Surprise!  Look who's still here:

Long story short, the Army was the Army and plans got changed.  We're on standby for when he will leave again.  We took our extra weekend and went to Florence and had a blast. 

My friend, Kaitlin, got in Thursday afternoon.  It originally worked out perfect that she was coming in the day he was leaving.  However, we've all had a great time eating way too much pasta, enjoying way too much gelato, drinking way too much wine, and staying up way too late.  But you only live once, right? 

Italia played Espana in the UEFA cup and they had a huge tv up in the square behind our house.  We all got matching shirts in Florence to show our support, but unfortunately Italia lost by 4.  Tough game. 

I'm going to be spending all my extra seconds with John Ralph until he leaves for real, so the blogging will probably be few and far between over the next few days.  I hope everyone has a great 4th!  Eat some watermelon and boiled peanuts for me. Ciao for now!
