We left early Friday morning and made a 2.5 hour drive north to a town called Plan de Gralba. John Ralph just got back from Germany, and we wanted to enjoy a few days together with the pup before heading back into the hustle and bustle of "normal" life.
In the winter, this area is a big ski destination, but when the snow melts, there is a lot of great hiking to be done. We stayed in a hotel that was directly at the bottom of a ski run and it had great views of the surrounding mountains. The weather was perfectly chilly (the hubs had to buy a coat, and I even got to wear a scarf) and it made us very excited to be welcoming the fall season in just a few short days.
Here are some pictures from our two days of hiking:
The beautiful view from our hotel.
The Dolomite Mountains
Darby, the wannabe mountain goat.
Mom and Pup, half way through the hike.
At the top of our hike we rested at a refuge and refueled on sausage, french fries, and beer.

Darby loved running up and down the hills and all around the fields.
