Work & Play
It is so much harder adjusting to the time change in Italy than it is in the States. When we were home, we just got tired a little earlier and then woke up earlier and got our day started. Here, John Ralph and I have both been staying awake until 3 or 4 in the morning and then can't drag our lazy butts out of bed until half the day has already passed by. Although we both felt a little bad about lounging around, it was nice to really relax these last few days. However, we've made a pact that now that football season is over and the holidays have passed, we have to get out of the house on the weekends. There is too much to do and see around us to not take advantage of it all.
We both went back to the salt mine today. I do well with a schedule, so as much as my eyes didn't want to open this morning I really felt good once I got going. I also have a nice "To-Do" list and crossing things off made me feel productive. John Ralph will be gone for a lot of January, but we're trying to plan a nice trip for his next four day weekend. We've tossed around the ideas of Paris, Rome, and London, and I'm excited to figure out what we're going to pick.
My newest obsession is Pinterest. I have found so many recipes and DIY projects on there. I want to craft everything. I've also been really inspired to get some art on our walls. We went over to another couples house and they have so many great pictures and neat pieces of art all over. I'm wondering how hard it would be to get my hands on some blank canvases and paint. I'm also trying to figure out how to do a photography project. Anyone know where I can buy cheap frames online? Maybe even in bulk? I want lots of them. I'm thinking I'll have a pretty good oportunity to spread some projects out across the living room while John Ralph is gone. Hopefully I can get my ideas organized by the time he leaves so he'll come back to a semi decorated apartment and not a crafting danger zone. Let's just hope I figure out a way to get the ideas floating around in my brain to actually come to fruition...
