The hills are alive

Peter Pan as a puppy

Cloudy green river
(I can't figure out how to put the pictures throughout the post...it's probably really simple, I just didn't want to spend time on that right now)

We went to Innsbruck, Austria yesterday.  I'm going to be completely honest with you.  We didn't have a great time.  When we booked the trip, we were running on just a few hours of sleep and thought it would be a great idea.  Well, when we actually went on the trip, we were still running on those few hours of sleep, and I completely hit a wall on the 4 hour bus ride.  Motion sickness and fatigue got the best of me.  In hindsight, we realize we were being a little ambitious.

With all of that being said, the scenery was absolutely beautiful.  I didn't realize that northern Italy grew so many apples.  It was pretty cool looking out of the window and seeing vineyards and orchards with the Alps as a backdrop.  I can't get over how odd the color of the rivers are here.  We're guessing the sedement from the mountains makes them look the way they do.  It's a cloudy light green color, and I actually think it's rather pretty.

Our first stop in Innsbruck was a brewery (neither of us can remember the name).  They have over 40 gold medals from the Beer Olympics, which basically means they won the "Best Beer In Austria" award over 40 times.  I let John Ralph stick to the beer tasting, while I stuck to my water bottle, but the brewery was built in an old castle and was interesting to tour.

In the city of Innsbruck we had an Austrian meal at a small cafe'.  I ordered bratwurst and John Ralph ordered wienerschnitzel.  Both were pretty good.  On the way home we got a Caprese sandwich (tomatoes, mozzarella, arugula, and basil) and I thought it was delicious.

Once we got home, we both passed out and slept about 13 hours.  Now that we're refreshed, we're planning on going around some neighborhoods today and being proactive in our house hunting.  I feel like we're getting our feet under us a little better and slowly but surely we're figuring everything out.  One last note, we're still trying to get the time difference figured out, but we would love to skype with people back home, so message us a time to chat--just remember, we're 6 hours ahead of South Carolina!
