Prague in Photos

Ahoj!  I headed north for the long weekend and met John Ralph in Prague.  He's working in Germany so we decided to cross the city off of our list of places to visit and explored while he had some time off.  The weather was overcast, pretty cold, and at times rainy, but we still had fun in the town with some friends.  We visited the Prague Castle and a few other main sights, but the highlight of the trip was eating trdelniks, or as we affectionately called them, "turdles".  It's a beautiful city and I'm very happy we made time to visit.  Here are some pictures from the trip!

Astronomical Clock.  On the hour, the little figurines move and ring the bell.  It's the oldest astronomical clock that still works.

Bubbles in the street.

Cheap Czech beer:  it's what's for dinner.

The gang trying to figure out what exactly a "turdle" is while enjoying a warm one.

Trdelniks cooking over hot coals.

Love.

More amazing street performers on the bridge.

A view of Prague from the Prague Castle.

The angriest welcoming into a castle.

Stained glass in St. Vitus Cathedral.

More stained glass.

We found a "turdle" without toffee bits and I enjoyed the heck out of it!

Storm clouds rolling into Prague.

I love this photo.

Only shiny by chance, I rubbed the dog to get Darby some good luck.

Half past turdle time!

Trdelniks are made by wrapping a dough (sugar, flour, water, and yeast) around a wooden stick, and then roasted over hot coals.  The hot baked pastry is then rolled in sugar, cinnamon, and nuts.  It was so delicious!

A piano and chair on the sidewalk.

I'm going to go through my pictures again and I may post a few more that I like, but that's all I have for now.
