Twenty Thirteen

Ciao two thousand and thirteen.  (and anyone who actually still reads this...)

I realize it has been quite some time since I last blogged, but here we are.  A new year, a new determination to do better.  Last year my resolutions were to blog more, and floss more (and I'm pretty sure I had one more resolution, but I don't remember it, so I obviously didn't keep it). I think overall I did a swell job with blogging.  Sure, I kind of sucked here for a while after Thanksgiving, BUT for the MOST part, I did ok.  As far as flossing goes...let's just say the ol' father-in-law will be impressed (fingers crossed) at my next dental appointment.  I've flossed more this year than I have my whole life.  I clearly only set extremely high goals for myself...

I didn't really make resolutions this year.  There was no specific thing I wanted to work towards.  However, I've decided that 2013 is going to be one of my best years yet.  The Hubs is coming home.  We get to spend another year-ish together, living in Europe.  I feel healthier.  I have a great group of friends here.  I'm inspired to do more cool things.  I just have a good feeling about the next 350someodd days.

I think my one big project this year is going to be to paint a picture of the sunset over Vicenza.  I have a very specific idea in mind and it's something I've thought about since we moved here.  I'm not always as patient as you should be when painting, but I'm going to give it another go and see what happens.  I'm determined to tap back into my creative side.  I also think I might start knitting.  I know, I know, I'm so exciting.  But think of how much time that would pass on plane rides.  Scarves for everyone!

Anyway, I still haven't decided what I'm going to do about my picture issue I'm having with the blog.  I know blog posts aren't as fun without pictures, but I'm being a HUGE penny pincher with this issue.  Bottom line is that I would rather spend my money on something other than paying an internet company to post my pictures to the blog.  Other things like wine and clothes.  Sorry guys.  I'm not being a team player on this one.

So.  There you have it.  I'm still alive and well in Italy, ready to take on another year.  I promise to continue to work on my blogging, and hopefully I won't leave you guys hanging for another two months.  And you never know...I might just break down and pay a few extra dollars to start adding pictures back to this thing.

Ciao for now!
