Updates
Howdy y'all! (That's what one of the gate guards tells me every morning and I find it hilarious.) This weekend was quite a low key one. No exciting chocolate festivals or harvesting parties going on. I babysat two little girls and watched lots of princess movies. So, instead of an exciting blog post, I figured it would be a nice time to just do a little update on what's been going on around these parts.
-We have reached the 5th month of the deployment. The half way point is just a few days away. I'm ready to get on "the other side" of this thing.
-The Hubs will be changing locations yet again, so hold off sending any mail until we get a new address.
-In 17 days I'll be on my way to see Big Ben. I'm almost as excited about London as I was about Paris.
-All of the stockings for the guys downrange have been stuffed and are almost ready to ship off. I just need to safety pin the stockings closed and get some big boxes to make shipping as easy as possible.
-We had enough leftover stocking stuffer items to make extra stockings to send downrange. J.R. is going to give them out to people at his new location.
-I noticed that they are starting to string some Christmas lights downtown. During the holidays, the downtown area is covered in twinkling lights, so it's quite a process to hang them all. I love Christmas here a lot more than in the states. There is a lot less Santa getting shoved in your face, and a lot more beautiful sights, sounds, and smells that go along with the real "reason for the season".
I know it's not much, but that's about all that's going on over here. Next weekend is a long weekend (Thanks Veterans!!!) so I'll be looking for something fun to get up to. Have a happy Sunday. Ciao for now!
